I’d been trying to learn bass for about a year before finding Bass Lessons with April. I had an instructor I’d go to once a week.

Are you tired of crawling through YouTube for bass tutorials, only to find ones that are too advanced or too basic?

I've been teaching bass for almost as long as I've been playing. I gave my first bass lesson less than a year after I got my first electric bass. Since then, I've taught dozens of individuals and even groups at Girls Rock Camp and various music schools.

My journey with the bass began when I was a teenager, starting with the upright bass, despite discouragement due to my "small hands". 

Like you, I often felt stuck as a beginner bassist, but I'm glad I stuck to my guns, because this instrument has shaped the course of my life in ways I could never have imagined.

After years of honing my skills, I found a wider audience through social media in 2021. My bass playing went viral, becoming an unexpected source of joy for others and for myself. Juggling grad school and my newfound online presence was tough, but the love for the bass kept me going.

Fast forward to today, and I've lived out some of my wildest dreams—touring the world, recording tracks, creating with other musicians. I've even been featured on the cover of Bass Player Magazine and Guitar Girl Magazine!

And one of best moments of my life was when Alt Press called me a "bass virtuoso." 

Teaching has remained a passion of mine over the years. Sharing the lessons I've learned on bass will always be part of my life. 

Watching someone find their unique groove and confidence on the bass is a magical experience. I've been seeing it more and more as these lessons evolve, and I can't wait to see it in you as you progress through the lessons yourself.
